AARP Fraud Watch: Top Frauds and Scams

Wednesday September 6, 2017
6:30 PM until 8:00 PM

Scams and frauds rob millions of Americans of their hard-earned money. AARP NH has in excess of 225,000 members, so it has the best opportunity to get out into the public with talks about how to deal with frauds and scams.  Americans 65 and older are more likely to be targeted and 34% more likely to lose money once targeted than those Americans in their 40’s.  Every 3 seconds someone’s identity is stolen.  2015 data shows that 13.1 million Americans were victims of fraud, resulting in 15 billion dollars stolen.  Total identity fraud in the past 6 years is $112 billion, which is an average of $35,600 stolen per minute.  Staggering!  This AARP Top Frauds and Scams Presentation will tell how to identify frauds, how to avoid frauds, and what to do should you become a victim.  Norma Boyce has been with the AARP Fraud Watch speakers group since its inception in the spring of 2010, and has spoken to many various groups, large and small,  across Southern NH in that time.  REGISTER TODAY!
